By default, on your iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, all your contact photos are displayed in the Messages app. If you don’t want to see those photos, you can easily hide them.
There are tons of reasons that explain why you want to hide the contact photos in Messages. Maybe you don’t have photos for all your contacts, and you certainly don’t want your friends to know that. Or, maybe, you just want to have some extra space on the Messages screen, or you want to see more of each message in the list. If you want to disable contact photos in Messages, you can follow the steps below.
- Step 1: Head to the Settings app on your Home screen
- Step 2: Tap Messages on the Settings screen.
- Step 3: You will find an option labeled Show Contract Photos on the Messages screen. Toggle the button to the left to turn off the option.
The slider button will turn White to let you know the option is now off
From now on, you will not see any photos that appear to the left of the message conversations.
Note: Make sure that you are now using the iPhone 6/6 Plus or 6s/6s Plus, as these newer devices are the only iPhones that can display contact photos in the Messages app.
