With the arrival of iOS 10, Apple has made 3D Touch much more versatile and powerful than ever, which definitely impresses a number of users. You can now use this touch technology everywhere such as Control Center, Lock screen and a lot more. It aims to redefine your user-experience.
It should be noted that there is one little 3D Touch gesture that is not very well known: the ability to control app downloads.
In fact, pausing and resuming an app download is pretty easy. All you have to do is tap on the app’s icon to pause it, and tap it again to resume it. However, cancelling a download appears more complex, as this requires some lengthy steps. You have had to press and hold the app’s icon until it starts jiggling then tap on the X icon, and then confirm.
Thankfully, iOS 10 does simplify the process. If you have an iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus or the newer iPhones that include 3D Touch technology support, you can definitely cancel app downloads in a convenient and quick manner. Here’s how you can do it:
Step 1: First and foremost, you need to 3D Touch on the app that’s being downloaded to your iPhone (press and hold on the screen until you feel a vibration feedback) in order to bring up the Cancel Download option. Just tap on it.
Step 2: The app icon should disappear from the Home screen and the download should stop.
Note that you will also see the handy options to pause and resume the download, and share the current app in 3D Touch Action Menu. 3D Touch has really become more user-friendly now, right?
