Apple today rolled out the second beta of watchOS 3.1.1 to developers for testing purposes. If your Apple Watch is currently running on watchOS 3 beta, just head over to the Watch app on your iPhone running iOS 10 and download right away. Note that the release of the beta 2 is available for only developers, so you have to install a certificate on your Apple Watch. Plus, watchOS 3 requires an iPhone running iOS 10 to install. And here’s how to install the watchOS 3.1.1 beta certificate:
Step 1: Sign in developer.apple.com on the iPhone connected to your Apple Watch.
Step 2: Head over to the watchOS 3 download page.
Step 3: Select Download watchOS 3 beta Configuration Profile.
Step 4: Select Apple Watch when the Choose a Device popup appears.
Step 5: Select Install begin.
Step 6: Type in your Passcode.
Step 7: Select Install to confirm.
Step 8: Select Restart to reboot your Apple Watch.
Once restarted, the installation process returns to normal.
Steps to install watchOS 3.1.1 on your Apple Watch
Step 1: You are first required to connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi and open the Apple Watch app.
Step 2: Select the My Watch tab.
Step 3: Select General > Software Update > Download and Install.
Step 4: Type in your iPhone Passcode.
Step 5: Select Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Step 6: Ensure your Apple Watch has at least 50% charge and pair it with the magnetic charger.
Step 7: Select Install on your iPhone and/or your Apple Watch.
Once done, the Watch OS update will automatically download and transfer to your Apple Watch, and Apple Watch will restart to apply the update.
If you have trouble installing the watchOS 3 update, try un-pairing and re-pairing your Apple Watch, and then try again.
