Steps to tapback iMessages on iPhone and iPad

Step 1: Open the Messages app on your iPhone/iPad.

Step 2: Open any iMessage thread in the app.

Step 3: Tap and hold on the chat bubble to bring up a selection of Tapback icons.

Step 4: Select the icon you wish to respond with. It will then be added to the chat bubble and sent to the message recipient.

Steps to change the Tapback icons in iMessages on iPhone/iPad

Step 1: Tap and hold on the chat bubble with the Tapback icon you want to change.

Step 2: Tap on the icon you want to change to Heart, thumbs up, thumbs down, Ha ha, !!, or ?. The old Tapback icon will then be replaced with a new one.

If you accidentally send a Tapback icon in Message, you can delete it by doing the following:

Step 2: Tap on the Tapback you want to remove.
