Despite the fact that iOS device doesn’t let you create contact groups, the Phone app on iPhone does give you the option to use contact groups. Steps to create contact groups on iPhone/iPad
Step 1: First and foremost, you will need to connect your iDevice to iTunes. Remember to sync the same to store your data in case something happens.
Step 2: Next, launch iCloud on your computer and sign in with your Apple ID. After that, click Contacts.
Step 3: Click the Plus icon located at the bottom of the Show Actions Menu and the list of contacts, and then click New Group.
Step 4: You are now asked to enter a name for the group. If you want to rename the group, simple double-click it.
Step 5: Navigate to All Contacts and search contacts you wish to add to the group.
Step 6: Once you are finished, launch the Phone app on your iPhone.
Step 7: Tap Contacts > Groups.
Step 8: Below the iCloud section, you should see names of groups you just created earlier on iCloud.
Steps to delete groups on iPhone/iPad
Step 1: First off, launch iCloud on your computer.
Step 2: You now need to sign in with your Apple ID. Once you are in, click Contacts > All Contacts.
Step 3: Click the name of the group, and then click the cogwheel to reveal the Show Actions Menu option. From here, click Delete.
Step 4: Click Delete again in the dialog box that appears. The group should be removed from the iCloud Contacts and your iPhone.
