Each Apple ID allows you to assign a credit card for any purchase on iTunes, the App Store, iBooks on iPhone/iPad. But you can also update your Apple iTunes billing info on iPhone, iPad or the computer and then select a different credit card for use with iTunes and your Apple ID. Keeping your payment information updated is so important since when you make any in-app purchases or Apple Music subscription, they will be charged to that credit card. So in this post, we’ll show you how to change your iTunes credit card on your iPhone/iPad and your computer.
Note: In case you want to add a debit card to iTunes in place of your credit card, the process is still the same.
Steps to Change The Credit Card on iTunes on iPhone/ iPad
Step 1: Launch the Settings app from your Home screen.
Step 2: Tap on iTunes & App Stores
Step 3: You’ll see your Apple ID at the top, just tap on it.
Step 4: Tap View Apple ID when the pop-up appears
Step 5: Enter your Apple ID password when prompted
Step 6: Tap on Payment Information.
Step 7: Here enter the payment information of your new credit card.
Step 8: Once all the information is filled in, including the billing address linked with the credit card, tap on Done at the top. Then tap it again to exit the Apple ID Account Settings.
Now you have a new credit card for purchases on App Store, and any other apps on iPhone/ iPad.
Steps to Change The iTunes Billing Info on Your Computer
If you’d like to update your iTunes credit card on your computer, you can easily do it through Apple’s website. You should remember that keeping it up to date is important as any time you’re asked to enter your Apple ID password for purchase, this credit card is the one being charged.
Step 1: Visit AppleID.Apple.com.
Step 2: Log in your Apple ID and password.
Step 3: You’ll be taken to a page with all of your Apple ID account info displayed.
Step 4: Find Payment & Shipping and click Edit Payment Information…
Step 5: You will now see all the billing info. Enter the payment info for the new credit card you want to use, including the billing address associated with the credit card.
Step 6: Once done, click on Save.
Now, when you make an in-app purchase from the iTunes store, App store, the new credit card will be charged.
