iOS 10 comes with a feature that offers you quick shortcuts to apps it thinks you might want to access, based on your location or other factors. These suggested apps show up on the lock screen in the lower left corner. For example, if you get up in the morning and always check your Gmail, then Gmail app icon will show up when you kick off your day. If you are not a fan of the suggested apps showing on your lock screen, then you can turn off these suggestions by disabling Siri App Suggestions. Let’s walk through how to do that.
Before diving in, note that besides suggesting apps on your lock screen and the app switcher, Siri also suggests them in the notification center. So, if you don’t wish these app suggestions to show up, you can only turn them off by removing the widget completely.
Steps to disable Siri App Suggestions on the iPhone
Step 1: First off, you are supposed to swipe right on your home screen to reveal the widgets screen.
Step 2: Once you are in, tap the Edit button at the bottom of the widgets.
Step 3: On the Add Wigets panel, find Siri App Suggestions and tap the red minus.
Step 4: In the end, you simply tap Remove.
If app suggestions don’t instantly disappear, you should restart your iPhone.
If you have changed your mind and want to re-enable app suggestions, just get back to the Add Widgets panel, and tap the green plus sign beside Siri App Suggestions.
