Apple has finally introduced the trio iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8. But in this post today, we won’t repeat the summary of the keynote, instead we’ll help you explore if you should upgrade your current phone to one of them
What iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus features
Both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus don’t come with many upgrades over their predecessors as iPhone 8 still remains a 4.7 inch display, while 5.5 inches is of iPhone 8 Plus. However, the new duo phones are powered by quicker A11 bionic chip, a better 12MP camera sensor and a new True Tone screen. The Plus version has the Portrait Light mode, which is sleek and is adored by photographers.
In terms of design, the front and back now come with a steel reinforced glass, and the sides are made of aluminum that feels like the iPhone 4/4S.
Apple is also making strides with augmented reality as the company demoed a number of new features and they’ll also be available to run smoothly on older iPhone models.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will come with 64GB and 256 GB variants, for the starting price from $699.
Is iPhone X worth enough to upgrade?
iPhone X was the most expectable in the Apple’s launch event. The phone features a 5.8 inch Super Retina OLED edge to edge display (True Tone) with the reinforced glass front and back covered by stainless steel sides. Apple removed the physical Home button on its iPhone X and simply swiping up from the bottom to access to the Home screen
The display is something really pleasing to the eye with the 2436*1125 resolution. When combined with other features, iPhone X is highly estimated to be one of the best smartphone displays.
Although there is not the Touch ID anymore, Apple added a new feature, called Face ID. Apple states that Face ID provides a better security than Touch ID, regardless of what attire you’re wearing. Apple has tested it carefully, so it won’t be a victim of pictures of a person.
Besides the Face ID, Apple also introduced a new feature in Messages app to support for the facial tracking features, called Animojis. Just by using facial expressions, users can control the animated emojis.
The iPhone X will go on sale in two variants – 64 GB and 256 GB, with a starting price of $999. Although it’s not affordable for a smartphone, if you can get one, you will have the most powerful iPhone out there.
