Five years ago, Apple added a new feature under the Hearing section in Settings. Although it makes more audible, this feature does not work well through the earpiece. You will have no choice except for disabling if you want to use earpiece while answering the incoming calls.
In case you are not able to hear properly while making a call through earpiece even when the volume is set at the maximum level, what will you do? The fact is that there is a simple way that you can try to fix this issue. Read on this post to find out how to do this!
Steps to Fix Low Earphone Volume on iPhone/iPad
If you have already updated your iPhone/iPad to the iOS 13/iPadOS 13 version, then you can try these following steps to fix the issue.
Step 1: Open the Settings app and tap on the Accessibility section
Step 2: Select Audio/Visual that is under the Hearing section
Step 3: Toggle the switch next to Phone Noise Cancellation to off
That’s it! You have already turned off Phone Noise Cancellation on your iPhone/iPad.
On iOS 12 or older versions
If your iPhone/iPad is running on iOS 12 or earlier iOS versions, here is how you can disable Phone Noise Cancellation on your iOS device.
Step 1: Open the Settings app and tap on General option
Step 2: Select Accessibility
Step 3: Scroll down and then toggle the switch next Phone Noise Cancellation off which is under Hearing.
Check whether the volume on your iOS device is set properly. If not, you can still adjust it as your preference by sliding right for higher volume or left for lower volume level.
That’s all! We hope you can easily hear through your earpiece without missing any information.
After you re-enable iPhone Noise Cancellation on your iPhone/iPad, you can then hear properly without the need of using the earpiece. Once you have canceled the redundant noise, it will be much better for you to hear the sound while making calls. So, you should re-enable Phone Noise Cancellation feature whenever you remove your earpiece.
