You too can use your AirPods when not connected to Internet

With Siri, controlling your AirPods has been easier than ever. The virtual assistant can help you play any song, album or skip any track in a quick manner. But the problem is that Siri just doesn’t work without a good internet connection. How can you solve this? Don’t stress out yet. There is still an offline option for now.

You can seek the help of Voice Control that allows you to handle the wireless earphones even in offline. This tutorial will show you how to enable Voice Control and use it to control AirPods when Siri stops working due to the poor network.

Step 1: First and foremost, you will need to fire up the Settings app on your iOS device.

Step 2: Next, tap General > Accessibility.

Step 3: Scroll down a bit and tap Home Button.

Step 4: Under the PRESS AND HOLD TO SPEAK section, select Voice Control.

Step 5: In the end, exit the Settings app.

How to control AirPods using Voice Control

From now on, every time you press and hold the Home button, Voice Control will be triggered. You just need to launch the Music app and start playing any song. After that, you simply press and hold the Home button to activate Voice Control.  Now, you can ask it to play, pause, return and even skip specific artists, albums, song and playlists without internet access. You should speak clearly and tell Voice Control what you want.

However, it’s good to know that Voice Control isn’t as deeply integrated into iOS as Siri, so your voice commands will be limited to a certain preset of commands.
